The meaning behind the Diocese of Tulsa
Stewardship logo
With the visual reference to the three
crosses at Calvary and the torturous steps our Lord took to arrive there, it
is hoped that one will understand that His ultimate gift, as the perfect
Steward, was everything He had and it was given – willingly.
When viewed by societal norms, our
opportunity to return our first portion of our Time, our Talent, and our
Treasure to our Lord is often considered burdensome – like the three crosses
on Calvary. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Once stewardship is truly understood we
come to realize that everything we have – all of our Time, all of our
Talent, and all of our Treasure – has been given to us by a gracious and
loving God; and that we should, if we are who we claim to be, followers of
Christ, return our first portions to Him – willingly.
Stewardship is the thread that runs through
everything we do as Church.
