Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Return to The Church?

Please, come home! We have missed you and would love to welcome you back.

Did you leave because someone hurt or angered you? Did you just drift away? Did you feel the Church was not providing for you, or that the Church had abandoned you? Were you even afraid that you had lost your faith?

Whatever the reason, you have been away too long; but no matter how long, it is never too late to return to the transforming power of God's mercy.

Perhaps a simple reconciliation will make you active among us again. If so, visit the Diocese of Tulsa's parishes page for the schedule of the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance) at a church near you. Its pastor is waiting for you; "knock and it shall be opened to you".

Perhaps marriage issues tore you from us. You may consult our Tribunal pages for advice and help. Maybe our Family Life Office provides services which will be beneficial to you in coming home. We want you to know that we have been praying for you and your return. We are anticipating the joy we are promised when one of us returns to us. If we have offended you, we are sorry. If you offended us, we have long ago forgiven you. Return to the bosom of Our Lord, who has promised to lift your burdens and give you rest, and you will have peace in His embrace.

You are not alone. You may find knowledge and comfort from reading about the issues and the stories of others with experiences similar to yours.
