If you or anyone you know has experienced abuse by any worker (priest, deacon, sister, brother, employee or volunteer) for the Roman Catholic Church or for the Diocese of Tulsa -- no matter when or where the abuse happened -- we urge you to do two things:
Call law enforcement to make a
report.
If the abuse happened in the thirty-one counties of eastern Oklahoma that make
up the Diocese of Tulsa, call the
Police or Sheriff's Office in the specific area.
If the abuse happened in other areas of Oklahoma or in any other state, call
the Police or Sheriff's
Office in the specific area of that state.
Any allegations of sexual abuse concerning those who currently are minors must be reported to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (800/522-3511) as required by Oklahoma State Law
Call the Diocese in which the abuse happened.
If the abuse occurred in the Diocese of Tulsa, call (918) 294-1904 and ask for the Vicar General; if he is unavailable, ask for the Chancellor. Calls are confidential with the following exceptions:
Any allegations of sexual abuse concerning those who currently are minors must be reported to the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (800/522-3511) as required by Oklahoma State Law and Diocesan policies.
Any allegation of sexual misconduct will be shared with the proper Diocesan authorities.
The Diocese of Tulsa has a Pastoral Response Team, whose most urgent responsibility is to demonstrate effectively the Church's heartfelt concern for the welfare of those negatively affected by child molestation. If you would like the services of the Team, contact the Diocesan Victim Assistance Coordinator, Quentin Henley, at (918) 585-8167 extension 104.
