Engaged Encounter
is a weekend marriage preparation program in which each couple can concentrate
exclusively on one another. It is designed to give an engaged couple an
opportunity to talk honestly and intensively about their prospective lives
together. There are no group dynamics. Following presentations on different
aspects of marriage, each engaged couple is given time for confidential
dialogue between themselves on the subject just presented. Couples will reflect
on their strengths and weaknesses, their desires, ambitions, goals, their
attitudes about money, sex, children, family, their roles in the church and
society -- all in a face-to-face way.
The weekend begins at 8 p.m. on Friday night and ends on Sunday at approximately
4 p.m. The encounter is typically held at a motel in the Tulsa area. The cost
of the weekend is $125.00 per couple, which covers meals, lodging and
materials. The schedule of Engaged Encounter weekends in the Tulsa area is set
forth below.
While the weekend is Catholic in orientation and is presented by two Catholic
couples and a priest, couples of other faiths are welcome.

A $35 non-refundable reservation deposit is required per couple. The balance of
